Watchdog wants Google to fully respect law on content filtration
MOSCOW, Jul 19 (PRIME) -- The Russian communications service will push U.S. Internet company Google to execute local laws by 100%, while it still randomly filters search results from banned information, the watchdog’s press secretary Vadim Ampelonsky told PRIME late on Thursday.
“The previous fine was effective, and the company started screening banned content. Time has passed and we see the company following the law selectively. We want it to respect the law by 100%,” Ampelonsky said.
The service fined Google 700,000 rubles earlier on Thursday and 500,000 rubles in December 2018.
Google declined to comment on the matter.
